Bernadette Peters

 


Bernadette Peters, born Lazzara, was born February 28 1948. She is an American performer, actress, and children's writer. In her nearly six decades of professional career, she has appeared on television, film and musical theatre. She has also performed in as a solo artist and recorded. She is a critically acclaimed Broadway performerwho has received seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award), and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, receiving three. Four of the Broadway cast albums on which she has performed have won Grammy Awards.



 



 Many consider Peters as the most effective Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is well-known for performances on Broadway including Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
